One of the more frequently asked questions of
EPC is Are graphic recorders all that you sell?
The answer is no. EPC also offers data acquisition systems
and print utilities. EPC is currently working on updating
the ADS-640 Acquisition Display System. The new product, scheduled
for early 2000, will build upon the portable data logger and include
a color monitor, built-in printer, datastorage and software options.

The July Issue of the EPC Monthly reported on
how EPC Sales Representative John Tamplin of Seafloor Surveys (Portland,
OR) along with Jon Dassler and Harold Orlinsky of David Evans &
Associates surveyed the bottom of the Columbia River. Using
an EPC GSP-1086, EdgeTech Side Scan Sonar, Reson Multibeam and magnetometer,
the group was hoping to solve one of Oregons greatest unsolved
mysteries.
In December 1958 the Martin Family, Dad, Mom and
three daughters went for a Sunday drive in Oregon to collect Christmas
greens. The family and their 1954 Ford station wagon were
never seen again. Tire tracks leading off a cliff at the Dalles
and the discovery of the two youngest girls bodies floating in the
Columbia River, lead authorities to believe that foul play may have
been involved.
After hours and hours of surveying this summer,
a diving team took over this October. Andy and Mark Angel
dived at three sites near the Dalles. With a river bottom
of huge boulders and underwater caves, the team was unsuccessful
in finding any clues. As Mark Angel aptly put This is
a river of drowned dreams,
.and it's guarding its secrets.
