On October 22nd an auctions was held at Alden
Electronics (Westborough, MA) for the contents of the building.
Alden had been shut down by the Worcester County Sheriffs Office
(EPC Monthly VOL. 2 NO. 22) over failed payments. EPC was
in attendance at the somber affair. The auction featured three
lots; 2 laptops $500.00, 35 monitors $1,000.00 and the remaining
contents of the building $7,000.00.
EPC is now offering limited support of the Alden 9315CTP.

EPC is pleased to announce that the Tulane University,
the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences , Delaware University,
and the University of South Florida have all placed orders this
month for the HSP-100. Both Tulane (New Orleans, LA) and VIMMS
(Gloucester Point, VA) plan to use their HSP-100 with their Edgetech
X-STAR Chirp sub-bottom profiler. Delaware University plans
to use their HSP-100 with the EdgeTech 560D topside and DF-1000
Side Scan Sonar. The HSP-100 is capable of printing photographic
quality images (256 shades of gray) on thermal film.

GeoAcoustics Ltd. (Great Yarmouth, UK) has decided
to standardize their hard copy output on the HSP-100 for use with
all versions of the GeoPro Processors. The HSP-100 can be
interfaced to GeoPro side-scan and sub-bottom; GeoPro LC, GeoPro
and GeoPro/4. "We have now decided to offer your HSP-100
as the standard printer with our range of GeoPro processors",
explains Managing Director David Stone. The GSP-1086 is also
offered as a recorder of choice for printing analog data from the

EPC is pleased to announce the availability of
a new FTP site. The EPC FTP (File Transfer Protocol) site
contains the following information available for download: All Manuals,
Test Utilities, Drawing Trees, Brochures, Paper Usage Chart, Y2K
Statement and Part Numbers for Consumables. The FTP link is
available on the EPC Web Site.
The EPC Newsletter has topped over 1,300 subscribers making it the
most deleted manufacturers newsletter in the industry. Web
site traffic has also shown an increase in activity. "Average
Access/Day" or how many people visit the web site a day has
increased steadily three months in a row; August (87/day), September
(90/day), October (98/day). The month of November is on schedule
to reach over a hundred visitors a day.

EPC Labs, Inc. will be closed Thursday and Friday,
November 23rd and 24th in observance of Thanksgiving. The
day is always observed the fourth Thursday in November as a legal
holiday for giving thanks for divine goodness. It has also
come to symbolize a time when families get together, feast on turkey
dinner, loosen their belts, watch football, and take a nap.
