Through the tireless efforts of Canadian Sales
Representative, M. Darrin Verge /Romor Atlantic Ltd. (Nova Scotia)
http://www.romor.ns.ca, , EPC
has secured two recent contracts north of the border. Memorial University
of New Foundland has purchased two Model 9802 Thermal Graphic Recorders
and Environmental Technology Centre (Gloucester, Ontario) has purchased
three Model HSP-100s.
Memorial University considers seismic reflection
profiling as an integral and indispensable component of most marine
geological studies, and the interpretation of such data allows the
seismic stratigraphic framework, and the sedimentary, environmental
and tectonic histories to be determined. Several researchers at
Memorial University of Newfoundland have active research programmes
in marine sedimentology, paleoceanography and tectonics along the
eastern Canadian margin (e.g. Labrador Sea, Orphan Basin, Grand
Banks, fjords and large lakes around Newfoundland) and the eastern
Mediterranean Sea, including the Aegean, Marmara and Black Seas.
"The optimum seismic acquisition systems
for the uppermost ~1000 m of sediment consist of a deep-towed boomer/sparker
system (e.g. Huntec DTS) run in conjunction with a single- or a
multi-channel airgun system. We will use the new EPC9800 recorders
to display best quality analogue copies of such data to ensure that
research funds invested in these field programmes provide the best
possible results", explains Memorial University spokesman,
Ali Aksu.
The three Model HSP-100s to be used by ETC are
to be used in an emerging market for EPC, synthetic aperture radar
http://www.etcentre.org. EPC
also has strong sales support on the west coast of Canada with Mr.
Ian Tilmouth of Romor West Ltd. (Calgary) who supports EPC customers
including Pacific Geoscience Centre (Sidney, BC), EBA Engineering
(Edmonton, Alberta) and ADAC Route Survey (Victoria, B.C.)
