EPC Laboratories, Inc. has designed its fastest, most rugged thermal printer yet, The HSP-100. The HSP uses a single step thermal process to develop photographic quality images on heat sensitive paper or film. The high plot speeds, simple operation and compact design make it ideal for well logging, variable area plotting, and other types seismic imaging.

Utilizing advances in modern electronics, EPC has minimized the amount of parts in the unit to greatly enhance reliability. The single board controller executes the HSP’s advanced logic in two high-density CPLDs eliminating unnecessary circuitry. A high-speed chart drive module is encased as a monolithic assembly, virtually impervious to vibration, debris, and moisture.

The HSP-100 is also very efficient. In standby mode, the system controller disables the auto-sensing power supply (84-265 VAC). Idle power consumption is an environmentally friendly 10 watts. Furthermore, the printing process is optimized to reduce the number of print cycles per line. The net result is extremely fast plot speeds, over 1000 lines per second, with minimum power consumption over time.
